One Day 30L Sale @ Otaku Designs November 28, 2009

Today I am turning 30 in RL so I decided to throw a little sale in my store. Everything on the first floor is 30L unless it was already less than 30L than it is the regular price. The price will go back to its normal price tonight at midnight SLT so come and grab whatever you like XD (tattoos, jewelry, legwarmers, etc…).

I’ve also made a necklace just for today only that is 10L. It is in the new releases area.

Otaku Designs is officially One Year Old now and new Snowflake Designs November 23, 2009

As of this week, Otaku Designs has hit the one year mark in SL.

Originally my intent was to move my older merchandise that I had marked down 50% off to XStreet but with the current changes, sadly there is no way I can afford to keep up my listings on XStreet. I will look for alternative methods for gifting but in the meantime I have extended my 50% sale and I have made all my older items trans. The sale officially ends 11/28/09 and they will no longer be available inworld or on any websites.

I have also created a few new releases this week at special prices in honor of my one year anniversary. The lip piercing is 25L, the tattoo is 50L, the snowflake necklace is 10L, and the Cameo Necklaces are 100L each.

I have updated the items in my Midnight Mania board, Profile Picks Reward as well as the Lucky Boards. There is also my Gacha machine right at the TP point with Princess crown necklace that are trans XD.

Puzzle Necklaces, Milkshakes, and 50% off Sale @ Otaku Designs November 16, 2009

This week I have been working very diligently on some new necklaces, I wanted to create something different than what I normally make. I saw these puzzle necklaces online and I thought they were really cute and I wanted to make something similar to it. I am offering three versions of my puzzle necklaces. Two of the necklaces are unisex in design and the last design is named after my dear and lovely friend Sakuradawn Lei. The Sakura Puzzle is made with cherry blossoms metal texture and also has a cherry blossom adorning it. Each puzzle has several quirky phrases for you to choose from with the menu. I tried to pick something different and completely random and the Otaku puzzle has nothing but words that a complete Otaku would know. Each of the puzzles come on a faux leather strap and there are two necklace colors in each set for you to choose. The necklaces are trans so you can keep one for yourself and gift one for your friend. The necklaces are 150L each.

And there is no denying that Sakuradawn is extremely lovely and her milkshake brings all the boys to the yard and she completely has inspired me to create this set. We were joking the other night when katat0nik released her Le Milkshake dresses and I overwhelmed her with the Milkshake song by Goodnight Nurse and well lets just say after one day I created this entire set. And that is a rarity for me. But then its very rare for me to have a day off in the middle of a week. I created this fun little Milkshake Charm set which I am selling for 200L, it is trans so you can buy it for your friend as a gift. I have also created a coordinating lip piercing that is texture changing to all the colors of the milkshakes in the necklace, I am selling it for 50L and it is copy/mod.

And last but not least, I have decided to have a sale in my store. I need to clear out some space and make room for upcoming releases and well I’m running out of room and you know me I like to move stuff around alot. Anyways after this weekend I will remove these items from my store permanently. The items are currently marked down 50% off. You will find full body tattoos as low as 75L, jewelry as low as 25L, legwarmers, clothing, etc… Just go upstairs and you will find a wall full of my 50% off items. The items will eventually be moved to xstreet but that will take some time because I have a tendency to be a little lax on that.

Dia De Los Muertos Releases @ Otaku Designs November 2, 2009

Today is officially Dia De Los Muertos and its a time to celebrate the lives of those who have passed away in our families. Since I love celebrating Dia De Los Muertos I wanted to create a few things to share with everyone to reflect my culture.

Up first I have a altar that I created. It is made of several different pieces and it is not linked. The pose was custom made by Sakuradawn Lei of Lazy Places and the photographs were taken by Kanic Huldschinsky of Rare Breed. Both individuals were kind enough to assist me in my project of creating this altar. I wanted to share this creation with everyone. The candles have a touch activated script that turns the flame on/off.

For this week only the necklace below will be priced at 25L and on Saturday 11/7/09 at midnight I will move the price back up to 75L.

And as a little gift to all my customers I created this fun little set. I may possibly be creating a new tattoo set with Dia De Los Muertos theme in the near future but I wanted to put these out in the meantime.

I also put in a brand new gacha machine this weekend as a fun new thing. Pay 50L to the crown vendor and get a random necklace. At one point I sold these necklaces in my store but I have stopped selling them in my store and I have pulled them from Xstreet also. These necklaces will receive an updated look soon but for now they are available in the gacha vendor for those who like kawaii styled necklaces.

Dia De Los Muertos Dress by Sparkle Skye Designs Review November 1, 2009

I was given the honor to review this lovely dress by Sparkle Skye Designs and when I received this dress I was completely ecstatic. A while back I had posted a picture on plurk of this beautiful veil and Sparkle did a really great job in recreating the veil and made a lovely dress to compliment the veil.

The dress comes with two top versions (with blood and without blood), I opted to wear the bloody version because I prefer to wear bloody items when I can. The dress is exquisitely made and you can tell that Sparkle paid very close attention to every detail of this dress. If you look closely at the bodice it has a nice lace like pattern and the skirt has a lovely arrangement of skulls that gather right at the waistline.

My first mission was to find some really great locations to showcase this lovely dress. I wanted to portray a little of Mexican folklore with my pictures. A little of La Llorona and La Catrina in my pictures. My first location I found myself at The Crucible where they have several lovely areas where you can take pictures at. I took mine at the archway because it had a dark mysterious look.

I began embarking on another mission to find another location to take my pictures but couldn’t find anything that fit what I wanted to portray in the pictures so I built my own set using the Mausoleum I picked up from the Wretched Dolls hunt, casket from the Nightshade Designs Hunt, Immortal Beloved casket from +Nocturnal Coffin Company+, and pose casket from Lazy Places. Some of the props in the picture are from the Dia De Los Muertos Altar I have for sale at my store Otaku Designs (sorry shameless plug here).

The layers of this dress is very free flowing and moves quite well with several ao’s. The sleeves include a resize script as well as the veil so you can adjust them to fit your avatar with ease. There is a notecard included in the folder that explains how to use the resize menu. If you decide you want to remove the scripts from the pieces make a back-up copy of the pieces prior to removing the script. There is a set of wings in this dress that are absolutely stunning, I wasn’t expecting a pair of wings to be included with the dress and I wasn’t sure how it would work with the dress but as soon as I put it on it complimented the look perfectly. As with all of Sparkle Skye Design creations this dress is made with excellent quality and I truly recommend that you grab a copy of this dress. It is absolutely stunning and all the pieces of this dress is something you can wear year round.

Octoheart Necklace @ Otaku Designs October 29, 2009

Today I have a brand new release for you. I’m still fascinated with tentacles and I finally was able to attain the design I wanted to create with the help of Kanic Huldschinsky of Rare Breed;He created the sculpt map for me. The tentacles are texture changing and you can either purchase the chain in a leather strap version or silver chain version.

And some reminders about a few events that I’m participating in that are ending this weekend. The Halloween event at HoPo Mall in which I created the following items will be removed from my store on November 1st, 2009, so come on by and grab them if they strike your fancy. New Release and Halloween Event @ HoPo Mall October 23, 2009

Today I have a new jewelry release in honor of Dia De Los Muertos. This is the first of a few things I have planned on making in honor Dia De Los Muertos. I’m not really a fan of Halloween but I do like spiders, pumpkins, and the like so I made some things with the items which you can find in my store. I’m more of an avid fan of Dia De Los Muertos, it has more meaning for me and pertains more to my culture. This jewelry set features graveyard candles, these are reminiscent of the candles that are used to decorate the graves of loved ones on Dia De Los Muertos. Usually the candles have religious icons such as Our Lady of Guadalupe or Jesu Cristo but I wanted to put Sugar Skulls instead since I’m obsessed with Sugar Skulls. I tried really hard to get the particle script to get the flame to get smaller but it turns out that the flame can only get so small so its only included in the largest candle on the necklace, its a black/purple flame that you can activate with touch. I may sell the candles or give them away to my in-world group later.

Beginning today at HoPo mall there will be a Halloween event with several vendors participating. Some vendors are creating exclusive items and freebies for this particular event. I have created a exclusive item as well as a dollarbie for this event. The event officially begins today and will end on November 1st, 2009. Once the event ends the below items will be removed from my store.

Tentacle Madness @ Otaku Designs October 19, 2009

Hello! I have a couple new releases today featuring my new obsession with tentacles. Lately a few of my friends and I realized we all have the same fondness with tentacles and since this is SL we can wear tentacles on our bodies in ways we never thought were possible in RL.

Up first I created my Entrapped Heart necklace. I was actually going for a different look but it didnt’ pan out as I wanted. But this necklace ended up coming out pretty well. I like the design and I decided to share it. I made the tentacles and heart texture changing. You can use the menu to change each of them seperately.

It was suggested that somebody pursue a tentacle tattoo. I know somebody else can probably make something more fierce and scarier then I can make. And since most things I make end up coming out kawaii this is my take on a tentacle tattoo. I decided to only do an upper body tattoo this time. Making a full body tattoo for this particular design would have been a little hard since it took a while for me to line up the tentacles on the upper body and I have been quite ill lately.

I will have more releases soon and there will be a event at HoPo mall this weekend. I will post more details once I know more. Stay tuned or join my inworld group or subscriber kiosk to keep up-to-date.

Deader Than You Tour October 17, 2009

I’m sure by now you have heard a little about the Deader than You Tour. Basically its a really great event featuring some pretty rad designers in sl. They make some of the best alternative designs out there and I was honored to be invited to participate in this event also.

How does the tour work? Well basically you go to any one of the participating stores and you purchase an item featuring the little image that indicates it has a bat token within the product. Many of the stores have a sample image as soon as you tp right into the store so you can see what it looks like. You can also get more information on the tour at each store location as well as utilize the teleporter station that was created to tp to all the stores on the Tour.

So what am I offering as my exclusive prizes? I have a couple of items that I worked on over the past couple of days.

These items are not sold in my store. The only way that you will be able to receive these items is to redeem your bat tokens from purchases. You can either buy items from within my store or at any of the participating locations. Keep in mind that the event ends on October 31st, 2009. So don’t forget to redeem your bat tokens before the deadline.

New Releases @ Otaku Designs October 8, 2009

Hello! I have a few new release today. I decided to do a few Halloween related items this month and I plan on doing some related to Dia de Los Muertos soon once I finish the textures.

I had asked a few friends if I should consider recoloring my Bat Attack tattoo and they recommended the following color variations: black/purple, orange/black, and purple/orange. As usual you can purchase the full body set for 150L or you can purchase the layers separately if you don’t need the entire full body set. These items will only be available until the end of October in these color options so come and grab them if you like the colors.

Continuing on with my Halloween theme I wanted to make a necklace for my store. I took the same template I had used for the necklaces I made for the Blue Blood Halloween Festival but this particular version is more unique. I integrated my sugar skull kawaii beads in the necklace and it has more sculpty halloween items to it. Also, when I opened my store I only created tattoos and legwarmers. It really has been a long time since I have worked on a pair of legwarmers so I created this fun pair. They are resize scripted and texture changing. There are 4 rope colors and 4 textures of legwarmers to choose from, they legwarmers are also mod and trans so you can gift them to your friends. These items will only be out until the end of the month and then I will remove them from my store.

The following items will be in my store throughout the year since they aren’t related to Halloween at all. I wanted to make something fun and I think in way both of these necklaces can be considered unisex. But definitely the Daarcness necklace is unisex.
